



What does Tendring District Council do for children and young people?
The Council provides many different services for children and young people, even though the statutory responsibility for children's services rests with Essex County Council. Click here for details of the work that the Council does.
Tendring District Council Children and Young People's Strategy 2006-2009
Tendring District Council has written a strategy for children and young people. This sets out what the Council intends to do for children and young poeple between 2006 and 2009.
The vision of the strategy is:
‘To provide young people with the tools and opportunities to make positive life choices and to reach their full potential’.
The Council's priorities are:
1. Improve the access to and the quality of advice and information for young people.
2. Reduce crime and disorder committed against and by young people.
3. Increase the number and range of activities for young people.
4. Improve Officers’ and Members’ awareness of children and young people’s issues.
5. Increase the active participation of young people in decision-making.
6. Reduce the number of young people not in education, employment or training.
7. To work with the Tendring CYPSP to improve outcomes for children and young people of all ages.
