Bishops Park College to close?

Have you heard the news that Bishops Park College might be closing? I heard it on SGR Colchester this morning. What are they going to do now? And why is it closing? Sarah |

I don't go to Bishops Park College either but I think it will be really sad if it closes. Why are they closing it - what's wrong with it? Tom |

hey everyone i dont go to bishops park but, it was said that a review / consultation will take place in the autumn and then a final decision will be made, so nothing is for certain yet. but it was also mentioned that if the school did close the remaining students would join a new extended colbayns? ? is this true? colbayns is an already big school with many students where will everyone else go in the school and how will the teachers cope? - what do you think about this? jess xx |

Yeah i saw on the news this morning that it may be closing. Apparently it's due to a lack of pupils joining the school, if it does happen then the bulidings will be used by the community though. Surely pupils from the other high schools around (which are already fairly full) can transfer to fill up places or parents who might send them somewhere else for year 7 send them to this school though? It's not a bad school is it!? ali x |

Hi I'm Louis and an ex-student at bishops park college, I have been there since it opened 5 years ago and now finished my GCSE's. And all of a sudden it is closing, surely we need to be asking questions NOW! many people are campaigning by generating petitions but what we need to do is collaborate our efforts into one huge save our school type campaign with help from the TVYC and the Tendring Youth Assembly we could put up fight to save our school all together, THE COMMUNITY AS ONE! That sounds great Louis, what could the Tendring Youth Assembly do though and who are they? Did you see the local news last night on TV? It looks like BPC is defo going to close but there is this consultation in autumn. I read about it on the Essex County Council website.
