Tendring Virtual Youth Centre

Property theft

The Tendring District, which includes Brightlingsea, Manningtree, Harwich and Clacton , is a relatively safe place to live.

However crimes like bike theft have become a bigger problem recently. Also with more young people carrying around expensive mobile phones and MP3 players they are more at risk of having their property stolen or even worse mugged.

To help reduce the chances of young people being victims of these crimes the Tendring Youth Assembly (TYA) has set up a property theft project.

The TYA is a group of 12-19 year olds that represents the voice of young people in Tendring and with the help of Tendring District Council they have given away property theft prevention packs to reduce the chance of young people having their stuff stolen.

The competition closed on 19th April but there will be a chance to win packs on other occasions such as the Big Red Bus Consultation Day on 29th May 2007 and at Tendring District Council's stand at the Tendring Show on 14th July 2007.
